Tuesday 30th June 2020 - Year 6 Home Learning

Dear all

I hope you are having a good week and are ready for today's task.

We have now planned another online session for this Wednesday 1st July at 10.00 am.  Your parents should have received an email and text message about this today.  Please remind them and connect just before 10 am so we can start on time.

Mr Camilleri

Here are your learning tasks for today.

For your literacy this week we have started working through a new 'Talk4writing' pack called TREASURE by James Walker.

There are 14 Activities to complete so you will need to work through at least two activities each day.

Try Activities 3 and 4 today.

Click on the link below to go straight to the activity pack.

Click on the link below to access today’s maths activity.

Watch the video on today's theme:  Summer Week 10:  Lesson 2 on 'Calculating Ratio.'

Then click on BBC Bitesize next to the video and click on your year group tab to access your work for today.

Please remember you can rewatch the video as many times as you need to and you can go back to it when you are answering the questions.

Also remember to complete your Mathletics tasks.  I have assigned 5 tasks for you for this week

For reading this week are listening to the audio story - The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling

Click on the link below to open the audio file.  The book has 24 chapters. Try to carry on listening to 2 or 3 chapters each day so we can finish it this week.

Keep a notebook while listening to the reading.  Make notes about new vocabulary you can look up later - new words in the text or other powerful words, adjectives, similes etc that you can then use in your writing, including the school memories in the Literacy task above.

TOPIC - Design and Technology

Today's session is about  the basics of energy generation from different sources.

This lesson includes:

two video clips demonstrating how electricity is made and water wheels

two activities to try at home
