Tuesday 16th June 2020

Good morning.

Here are the Mind-boggling answers from yesterday:

  1. Behind Closed Doors:  When prisons closed down, the cell doors no longer needed to be closed.
  2. Dry Run: She was swimming when it started to rain. The rain didn’t get her wet because she already was wet from the pool.

All I can say is WOW – There was no way I was close to getting either of those!

Switch on those brains ready for today’s learning.

Literacy:

We are going to be looking at another Greek myth today – Theseus and the Minotaur.   This is one of my favourite Greek myths, and I hope you enjoy it too.

Please go through and complete the activities – Creating a comic strip.  I have also provided a video of the Greek myth, so don’t forget to watch it.

Topic:

Yesterday you would have explored the 7 wonders of the ancient world. I hope you have chosen one of your favourites.  Personally I found the Colossus of Rhodes because I thought it showed a sign of peace as they melted down the left over war materials after defending the city.  It’s a shame that it was toppled shortly afterwards.

Today, I would like you to use the techniques learned from last week’s literacy lessons to create an advert that entices modern man to travel back in time to visit your chosen wonder. For this task we are going to assume time travel is a given.  You can draw the advert in you Exercise book or create a PowerPoint.
