It's Friday already and the end of our Virtual Maths week. Look out for Mrs Warland's newsletter to read more about who was our highest scorer on Sumdog. Here are your learning tasks for today.
For Literacy this week you have been thinking about your time in primary school.
Today I would like you to write about your last two years at SJTD, that is YEAR 5 and YEAR 6.
If you've written your memories on compter please ask parents to send them to me at email@example.com

64 challenge This fantastic task is taken from Nrich – full details here: https://nrich.maths.org/80
Write the numbers up to 64 in an interesting way so that the shape they make at the end is interesting, different, more exciting ... than just a square.
Click on this link below. It opens a PDF document. Your challenges are on Page 3.
Again, I'd be very interested to see pictures of the patterns you create.
For reading his week we have started listening to the audio story - The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling
The link below takes you to a Youtube audio book.
The story takes over 5 hours reading so you will need to listen to about 30 minutes each day so we can finish it over two weeks.
Keep a notebook while listening to the reading. Make notes about new vocabulary you can look up later - new words in the text or other powerful words, adjectives, similes etc that you can then use in your writing, including the school memories in the Literacy task above.
READING - THE JUNGLE BOOK.
FRENCH - FOOD AND DRINK
In today's lesson, we will learn the basics of talking about food and drink in French.
This lesson includes:
one short film demonstrating how to talk about food and drink
two activities to try at home
Follow the link to the BBC website to begin the lesson.
Have a good day. I'll have some fresh tasks for you on Monday.
